Coach and Facilitator
Lakiba Pittman is highly sought-after speaker, facilitator, educator, consultant, mentor, and creative artist with decades of experience in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. As a certified facilitator in Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) - a program of Stanford University's Center for Compassion & Altruism Research & Education, as well as a mindfulness instructor at MissionBe, and a trauma healing educator at Healing Together, Lakiba artfully weaves together a variety of healing and contemplative modalities in specialized workshops for clients such as the Contemporary Jewish Museum, Lava Mae, Concrn, College Track, The Sonima Foundation’s yoga instructors in the Ravenswood City School District, and to community leaders, activists, and health and wellness practitioners across the Bay Area and beyond.
She is also an educator and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) consultant, with decades of leadership experience in the corporate and tech sectors, while also serving as Adjunct Professor teaching Race & Ethnicity at Notre Dame de Namur University and as Adjunct Professor at Menlo College, teaching Diversity in the Workplace and Culture in Media.
As a creative artist, Lakiba is a published poet, artist, and recording artist. Her latest book Bread Crumbs from The Soul… Finding Your Way Back Home, is a showcase featuring her original art, poetry and autobiographical reflections. Lakiba is a featured soloist with John Santos and the Machete Ensemble on the album Africa Vol. 1, was a founding member and featured dancer and singer with Malonga Casquelourd’s Congolese Music and Dance Ensemble, “Fua Dia Congo”, and was a featured vocalist on the album “Let the Sun Shine In,” with the Sons & Daughters of Lite. She has performed at both the Stanford Jazz Festival and the San Francisco Jazz Festival. Her art was recently featured along with over seventy women at The Black Woman is God art exhibit at SomARTS in San Francisco, and she was one of the featured poets at the 50th year celebration of the Black Arts Movement.
Lakiba holds a B.A. in Creative Arts, an M.A. in Organizational Development and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology with specializations in Consciousness, Spirituality & Integrated Health, Multicultural Psychology, Transformative Social Change and Creativity Studies.
She likes to garden, watch documentaries and has her own bookstore on Amazon: Lakibaz Books. Lakiba has a son and daughter-in-law, and dotes on her four grandchildren and her doggie “Righteous.”
